Kia and Hyundai brought some cool rides to the SEMA show this year. For Kia we have a beer-tapped Sedona, the ultimate karting Sedona, the Smitten ice cream truck EV Kia Soul, the championship Kia Optima race car and a duel rear turbo K900.
Hyundai had a assortment of rides including the Sonata and Genesis at the show as well. Both brands did very well and the vehicles speak for themselves.
Kia and Hyundai were also presented with penalty fees for overstating the mpg of their vehicles in the recent past. The fees were hefty but Kia and Hyundai made good on reimbursing owners with programs in place and most important satisfying the customers.
Let's be honest here -There are other brands who are fudging on mpgs and they know who they are. Kia and Hyundai posted their own info site detailing flaws in the tests which the EPA acknowledges.
And Kia once again had a record selling month for October. Kia moved 44,694 units last month and the Kia Soul numbers were 10,685 and the Optima sold 11,840. Sales were up 7.4% over last year. Check out the SEMA rides here. Enjoy.
