Thank goodness it's Friday Tha Kia Soul Blog peeps! And with that great news to share. The new 2017 Kia Soul model with a refreshed facelift and all has been spotted by AutoGuide spies out and about in camouflage & black coverings the norm when new and refreshed models have to hit the streets for real world tests. What is still a mystery is just how the face and back end area will look. It has been said that the area where "Soul" was located on both front side fenders are gone for starters. Also mentioned is the door mirrors are slightly larger. Expect some interior/audio upgrades as well as new paint colors too.
Not much is said on new motors/transmissions as well but tweaks to current ones may take place to add to increase miles per gallon. We should start getting more concrete info on the new 2017 Soul soon as some info is just speculation at the moment. We should also hear more on the new Trail'ster soon also.
In auto news, the U.S. in 2015 sold 17.471 million vehicles while setting a new record (Old record: In 2000 was 17.402 million vehicles sold).
Kia did outstanding numbers with 625,818 vehicles sold in 2015 up almost 8 % year to year. Kia sold 54,241 vehicles in December 2015 and a whopping 19% increase over the same period last year. The Kia Soul had increasing sales for the 6th consecutive straight year. More info here.
And last but not least the autonomous Kia Soul and Kia Sorento are well into their testings for driver-less Kia's by 2030. Also displaying at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show was the the new sub-brand "Drive-Wise" for all autonomous technologies and so from Kia here.
