Hello Ladies and Gents welcome to my blog dedicated to the new and improved 2012 Kia Soul. Call me Cellus and I am here to share all I can about this new Soul compared to the 2011 and 2010 but mainly all about the 2012 Soul. First off I am also a near future owner myself and have been doing my own day to day research on the Kia brand as well as the Hyundai brand since the change started in 2006-2007. Have followed the Kia Soul since the drawing board and the concept vehicle which the final for sale design stayed very true to.
With my first post I am including some quick info on my test drives of both the new 4 cylinder 1.6 and the 4 cylinder 2.0. The 1.6 is very nice with 138 horses and 123 lbs ft torque. The 2.0 with 164 horses and 148 lbs ft torque is really nice to have. I took both on the same 5 mile drive nothing major but did a lot of stopping and stuff- they both can grab the pass gear or gear down and go from a stop really good the autos that is. The plus with the 1.6 was nice to me but I want the exclaim with the 18' wheels, led tail lights and hid headlights and 2.0 motor. Even the hounds-tooth and tan color is in the right spots not too get many scuffs I hope.
Last, the only gripes so far are not being able to choose the plus's black interior with the word "soul" on the doors and seats I would love to have that. Also, maybe adding the other deck-lid spoiler or wing to the back instead of the wing that sits on posts like a bridge being added to some of the 2012 souls arriving at the dealers. And Kia please add a 4 piece ground effects kit for the 2012 soul it would be great. The 2010 and 2011 have nice ground effect kits.
And finally, I have included some pics as I visited with my local Kia dealer here in Fort Worth, Tx. Over two weeks I drove both trims and the later looks so much better in person- the exclaim that is. As my purchase time is undecided at the moment it will be a 2012 Kia Soul Exclaim and sometime in the next 6 months faithfully give or take some of the time. I will continue to update new news and accessories and other news with Kia.
